Bayelsa: INEC official kidnapped by suspected Pirates regains freedom after election
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Bayelsa reports that its Supervisory Presiding Officer (SPO), who was kidnapped on Friday, has been released.
News24 Nigeria reports that the SPO was kidnapped by gunmen on his route to the Registration Area Centre – 06 (Ossioma) in Sagbama Local Government Area.
Mr Wilfred Ifogah, the state INEC’s Head of Voter Education and Publicity in Yenagoa, corroborated the remark in a statement made available to media on Saturday.

According to Ifogah, the officer is well.
News24 Nigeria reports that the officer, whose name was not released, was abducted while waiting to board a boat to his deployment location at Amassoma Jetty.
CSP Asinim Butswat, the state police command’s spokesman, was unavailable for comment.
