Kano Guber dispute: NNPP, APC sign peace deal with Police
In order to keep the peace before, during, and after the governorship election appeal ruling that the Appeal Court in Abuja is scheduled to give on Friday, the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) have inked an agreement with the Kano state police command.
Speaking to reporters on Thursday at the Police Command Headquarters in Bompai, the state’s commissioner of police, Usaini Gumel, said that the force has developed plans to advance harmony and peace in the state prior to, during, and following the governorship appeal verdict, which is scheduled to take place in Abuja on Friday.
Speaking alongside other chiefs of security agencies, Mr. Gumel continued, saying that all security measures to maintain calm had been completed by the command prior to, during, and during the appeals.
Wada Ibrahim, the vice chairman of the party, and Ibrahim Sarina, the secretary, represented the APC and the NNPP camps during the meeting.
