Major roads blocked as protest rocks Nasarawa over Supreme Court’s judgement

A protest has broken out in Lafia, the capital of Nasarawa State, following the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold Governor Abdullahi Sule’s election.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) supporters have totally blocked the Lafia-Jos Road by burning tires in front of the party’s state secretariat, barricading the road.

The demonstration has caused cars to take alternate routes through Lafia, the state capital.

There is a security presence to restore calm and prevent escalation.

Shops and business centers, including schools, have abruptly closed in the Lafia metropolis.
