BREAKING: FG shut down popular Sahad stores over stockpiling, exorbitant prices

The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, or FCCPC, has closed Sahad Store, a well-known grocery store in Abuja’s Garki district.

The supermarket’s management was accused of shortchanging customers by charging prices that differed from those on the shelf.

The development occurred 24 hours after President Bola Tinubu declared plans to address the underlying causes of the food crisis.

Adamu Ahmed Abdullahi, Acting Executive Vice Chairman of the FCCPC, spearheaded the enforcement action.

On the sidelines of the event, Abdullahi told reporters that the commission’s preliminary investigation found that the supermarket’s management was shortchanging customers.

He indicated that the store would be sealed until the extra investigation was finished.
