EFCC grills ex-Kwara gov, Abdulfatah Ahmed over alleged fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is interviewing Abdulfatah Ahmed, a former governor of Kwara state, over transactions worth billions of naira when he was in office.

On Monday morning, Ahmed was seen coming at the anti-graft agency’s Ilorin office.

According to Channels Television, he was invited by the EFCC and is now answering to questions over the disbursement of purported funds during his administration.

Ahmed served as governor of the state from May 2011 to May 2019.

In May 2021, he was questioned by a team of agents at the EFCC offices in Abuja’s Jabi neighbourhood over the suspected diversion of approximately N9 billion from the Kwara state’s budget.
