Asue Ighodalo is a Nigerian lawyer and the Governorship candidate for Edo State election under Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

1. Ighodalo was born July 19, 1959. He is from Okaigben, Ewohimi, Esan South East LG, Edo State, Nigeria.
2. Ighodalo obtained B.Sc degree in Economics from the University of Ibadan in 1981, an LL.B from the London School of Economics and Political Science (1984) and a B.L from the Nigerian Law School, Lagos (1985).
3. Ighodalo alongside Femi Olubanwo is a founding partner of the law firm of Banwo-and-Ighodalo a corporate and commercial law practice in Nigeria specializing in advising major corporations on Corporate Finance, Capital Markets, Energy & Natural Resources, Mergers & Acquisitions, Banking & Securitization and Project Finance.
4. Ighodalo earlier worked as an Associate in the law firm of Chris Ogunbanjo & Co between 1985 and 1991 before setting up Banwo-and-Ighodalo law firm.
5. Ighodalo has presented several papers on capital markets issues both within and outside Nigeria, and also authored many articles in leading law publications.
6. He sometimes lectures on corporate governance, directors’ duties and responsibilities, and entrepreneurship at the Institute of Directors, Lagos Business School and FATE Foundation entrepreneurial training sessions, respectively.
7. He was chairman of Sterling Bank, director of the Nigerian Sovereign Investment Authority, and chairman of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group.
8. Ighodalo won the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Edo Primary Election on Thursday evening, February 22, 2024, to become the party’s nominee for the September 2024 governorship election in the state.
