See interesting facts about Ibrahim Khalil Gaga, the New Executive Director of NEXIM

Ibrahim Khalil Gaga is a Nigerian lawyer and the newly appointed Executive Director of the Nigerian Export-Import Bank.


News24 Nigeria gathered some interesting facts about the New NEXIM Boss for you to read.

Gaga was the bank’s Board Secretary and Legal Advisor.

Gaga holds a law degree from Bayero University and a BL from Nigeria’s renowned Law School.

He earned his Master of Laws degree in 2002 from Lagos State University in Ojo, Lagos. He also has a postgraduate diploma in management from the National Open University.

Gaga has over 20 years of expertise bringing private law practices into the dynamic banking market.

His professional career began with Ikiebe & Co., a Lagos-based law firm.

After leaving the legal profession, Ibrahim worked for many financial companies, including Liberty Bank, Pacific Bank, MBC International Bank, First Bank of Nigeria, and Fidelity Bank.

In May 2011, he became Head of Legal Services at ASO Savings & Loans Plc, where he obtained substantial experience in litigation, recovery, security documents, risk management, and company secretarial practice.

Notably, at Fidelity Bank Plc, Gaga was instrumental in documenting major projects such as the first independent power project between Lagos State, Island Power Company Limited, and Fidelity Bank Plc.

On February 21, 2024, President Bola Tinubu nominated Gaga as the new Executive Director of Corporate Services of the Nigerian Export-Import Bank (NEXIM).
