Hunger: Residents block BUA truck carrying foodstuffs, loot cartoons of noodles in Zaria

On Friday, some people of Zaria, Kaduna State, stole several packs of noodles from a moving truck stocked with goods owned by BUA.

A town citizen, who confirmed the terrible development, stated the incident occurred. After some youngsters blocked the truck in Zaria’s Dogarawa neighborhood, claiming that the company was one of the manufacturers raising prices without regard for the financial situation of ordinary inhabitants.

Many neighbors saw the circumstance as a chance to pilfer the food goods, rushing to carry cartoons of noodles piled in the rear of the truck.

Mohammad Jalagie, the Kaduna State Police Spokesman, did not answer to calls and text messages seeking his reaction on the matter.

Earlier, it was reported that inmates at the Correctional Centre in Jos, Plateau State’s capital, protested a decision to lower their food ration.

It was discovered that the detainees began protesting as soon as they learned about a reduction in food size on Friday.
