BREAKING: Fresh twist in Rivers as top PDP chieftains declare support for Tinubu, Fubara

Uche Secondus, a former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and members of the party’s Presidential Campaign Council for the 2023 general elections in Rivers State, have proclaimed their support for President Bola Tinubu and state Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

Abiye Sekibo, a former Minister of Transportation and Director-General of the PDP-PCC Rivers State, made the announcement during a news briefing in Port Harcourt on Thursday.

Secondus, former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Austin Opara, Celestine Omehia, former Deputy Governor of the State, Tele Ikuru, Senator Lee Maeba, and former Secretary to the Rivers State Government, Dr. Gabriel Pidomson, among others, attended the briefing.

The council supported the PDP presidential candidate in 2023, Atiku Abubakar, in the last elections.

News24 Nigeria reports that Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, has been at dagger-drawn with Governor Fubara, resulting in a political crisis and realignment in oil rich state.
