Arsenal confirm signing of Nigerian teenager

Arsenal has announced that Ethan Nwaneri has signed his first professional deal with the English club.

The England youth international of Nigerian heritage joined Arsenal in May 2015 and has progressed through the club’s system.

This season, the 17-year-old midfielder has played 14 games across all competitions, scoring 14 goals.

Nwaneri has also played for the first team, coming in as a substitute in a 6-0 Premier League victory over West Ham United in February 2024.

He made history in September 2022 by becoming the youngest player to appear in an English top-flight match. Nwaneri was 15 years, 181 days old at the time.
