BREAKING: APC suspends national chair, Ganduje over alleged corruption

Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has been suspended as a member of his ward in Kano.

News24 Nigeria reports that the Executive members of Ganduje Ward In Dawakin-Tofa Local Government Area of Kano state announced the suspension of Ganduje over alleged corruption on Monday.

Addressing reporters in the state capital, Haladu Gwanjo, the Ganduje Ward’s legal adviser, stated that the former Kano state governor is suspected of flagrant abuse of public monies while serving as governor.

According to him, the members decided to suspend the national chairman’s membership after a vote of no confidence was passed against him due to his inability to clear his name from various corruption allegations against him, including the widely circulated dollar videos in which he was alleged to be collecting bribes from contractors.

He stated that the ban is effective as of today, April 15.
