Richard Eyimofe Evans Mofe-Damijo better known as ‘RMD’ is a celebrated Nigerian figure whose talents span acting, writing, producing, law, and journalism.

Early Life and Education

Born on July 6, 1961, in Aldja, Udu LGA, Delta State, RMD embarked on his academic journey at the University of Benin, where he studied Theatre Arts. He later pursued a degree in Law at the University of Lagos and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2005.

Personal Life

RMD’s personal life saw him marrying television personality Jumobi Adegbesan in 2000. He was previously married to the late Nigerian journalist and publisher May Ellen-Ezekiel (MEE), who passed away in 1996. He is a father to five children.

Career Beginnings

RMD’s artistic journey began in his high school drama club. His early career saw him contributing as a journalist to notable publications like Concord Newspapers, Metro Magazine, and The Guardian. His transition to television came with his role in the soap opera “Ripples,” which marked the start of his prolific screen career.

RMD made a significant impact on the Nigerian entertainment industry with his debut production, “Out of Bounds.” Over the years, he has appeared in over 300 movies and television series, establishing himself as a prominent figure both locally and internationally.
