Omotala Jalade Ekeinde, known by her stage name Omosexy, is a professional Nigerian actress, artist, philanthropist and a tv presenter.

She is the first Nigerian icon to received one million likes on Facebook and has also won several awards within and outside Nigeria.

Omosexy is one of the most prominent Nollywood star who has made significant strides in the entertainment industry.


Born on February 7, 1978, in Lagos State, Omotala is the only daughter of late Mr and Mrs Oluwashola and Oluwatoyin Jalade. She has two siblings, Tayo and Bolaji Jalade.

Omosexy is married to the love of her life, Captain Matthew Ekeinde. The union is blessed with four children, two girls and two boys.


Omotala Jalade had her early childhood education in Chrisland Nursery School in Opebi, Lagos State and primary educational institution at Oxford Children School.

She finally obtained her West African Examination Council certificate at Command Secondary School, Kaduna.

Omotala studied at University of Lagos for a short time before transferring to Yaba College of Technology where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Estate Management.


Omotala began her career as a model before venturing into acting. She accidentally got a role when she escorted her friend to an audition.

Omosexy was given a part to play in a movie titled “Nneka the Serpent,” but she later obliged because her mom didn’t permit her to act as a mermaid. She received 43000 as payment for her debut film.

At the age of 17, she made her first appearance in a movie, Venom of Justice produced by Regina Daniel in 1995.

Omosexy as she is fondly called, rose to fame after she landed a lead role in Zeb Ejiro and Andy Amenechi’s movie, Mortal of Inheritance.

She has filmed in almost 300 movies with top Nollywood actors like Ramsey Noah, Genevive Nnaji, Stella Damascus, Pete Edochie and many others.

Lost Kingdom, Scores to Settle, Rescue, Blood sisters and korosogun are a few of the movies that contributed towards her career success.

Omosexy has won different awards like Best Supporting Actress at 2005 Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice,best actress in an English speaking film and overall best actress at Thelma award in 1997 and others.

She was named one of the 2013 TIME 100 list’s Most Influential People in the World by TIME Magazine.

Jalade travelled to Atlanta and Georgia in 2012 to work with music producers and composers who could help create a sound that would appeal to American music fans.

She also hosted her own TV show named “The Real” on African Magic TV, which was featured by an M-Net affiliate.

2005 marked Omotala’s debut album release, GBA, marking the start of her musical career. Afterwards, she put out more songs, including Eyes and Me, Myself.

On 9th November 2023, a chieftaincy tittle was bestowed upon her by the King of Ondo Kingdom, Victor Kiladejo.

Her dedication to serving humanity led to her appointment as the United Nations World programme ambassador.

She has a foundation named Omotola Youth Empowerment Project (OYEP). This project brings together hundreds of young people for the convention and empowerment walk.
