Troops capture suspected gunrunner who coordinated attacks in Plateau

Nigerian troops under Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) have successfully apprehended a notorious gunrunner linked to several terrorist activities in Plateau State’s North Central region.

Security analyst and counterinsurgency expert Zagazola Makama reported that the arrest took place on June 14, following a precise intelligence operation.

The suspect was tracked down and apprehended in the Furaka community, within the Lamingo axis of Jos Local Government Area.

Intelligence sources revealed to Makama that the suspect was implicated in the Christmas Eve 2023 attacks on Bokkos and Barkin Ladi LGAs. During preliminary investigations, the suspect confessed to coordinating multiple kidnapping operations across Barkin Ladi, Bassa, Jos East, and Riyom LGAs.

The suspect is currently in military custody, where further investigations are ongoing.
