103 Nigerians deported from Turkey arrive Abuja, share ugly experiences

On Friday, 103 Nigerians returned to the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja after being deported from Turkey.

The group landed at approximately 6:45 pm at the pilgrims’ wing of the airport on a Southwind Airlines flight, bearing the registration number TC-GRB.

Several government agencies, including the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), the Department of State Services (DSS), and military personnel, were present to receive the deportees.

The reasons behind their deportation remain unclear.

Many of the returnees expressed anger and frustration, describing their experiences in Turkey as unfair.

They claimed to have been detained by Turkish authorities for over 11 months before their deportation.

The deportees urged the Nigerian government to advocate on their behalf and help them recover their lost belongings.
