Planned nationwide protests: Police deploy 4,200 officers, EOD specialists in Abuja
In anticipation of the upcoming nationwide protests, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) police command has mobilized 4,200 officers throughout Abuja.
The force has also stationed explosive ordinance device (EOD) specialists at key locations to bolster security.
According to a statement released by police spokesperson Josephine Adeh on Friday, these measures are designed to safeguard the public, protect protesters, and prevent any potential disruption by unauthorized groups.
Additionally, Adeh noted that there will be targeted raids on known trouble spots, unfinished structures, and informal settlements, along with stop-and-search operations, in coordination with other security agencies.
