The Federal Government has announced that September 16, 2024 (Monday), will be observed as a public holiday in celebration of Eid-ul-Mawlid, which commemorates the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
The declaration was made by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, through a statement issued by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, on Friday.
In his statement, Tunji-Ojo extended congratulations to the Muslim community, urging them to use this special occasion to pray for lasting peace and a more prosperous and just nation.
