Dr. Nsikak Akpan, a lecturer at the Foreign Links College of Health Technology in Moro, Osun State, has announced plans to attempt a 150-hour marathon lecture in pursuit of setting a new Guinness World Record for the longest continuous lecturing session.
Speaking to journalists on Friday, Akpan revealed that his application, bearing the reference number 240427100506lml, has been approved by Guinness World Records. His goal is to surpass the current record held by Indian professor Arvin Mishra, who delivered a lecture for 139 hours, 52 minutes, and 42 seconds in 2014.
Scheduled to begin on Monday, Akpan’s lecture will focus on the theme “Relationships between Man’s Environment and Health.” Students from the college will be in attendance throughout the record-breaking event.
