In a significant move towards digital transformation, the Plateau State Government has introduced the Pay Plateau App, a new digital platform aimed at streamlining salary payments and reducing administrative costs for civil servants.
Developed in partnership with Smart Apps IT Ltd, the app is designed to minimize paperwork and processing times for essential documents like pay slips, enhancing financial transparency in the process.
Governor Caleb Mutfwang’s digital agenda for the state is bolstered by this initiative, as explained by Engr. Dominic Datong Gwaman, Director General of the Plateau State ICT Development Agency (PICTDA).
During the launch event on September 26, held at the Banquet Hall, New Government House in Jos, Gwaman underscored the app’s role in advancing the state’s digital infrastructure.
The event saw the attendance of key government officials, including the Head of Civil Service, Mr. Stephen Pam Gadong; the Commissioner for Finance, Mrs. Dongkum Grace Shwarta; and the Accountant General, Mrs. Nanret Asabe Mangset. Other notable figures such as Samuel Gwott, General Manager of Plateau Express Services, were also present.
Mr. Gadong, represented by Permanent Secretary Mr. Musa Nyam, expressed appreciation to Governor Mutfwang for his efforts to modernize the civil service, praising the Pay Plateau App for its potential to ease civil servants’ workload and boost overall efficiency.
Messages of support from various officials highlighted the foresight of both PICTDA and Governor Mutfwang in embracing technological advancements. The CEO of Smart Apps IT Ltd, Mr. Godwin Odoma, also thanked the state government for the opportunity to contribute, promising high-quality service.
A key feature of the launch was the demonstration of the Pay Plateau App to salary and liaison officers from different Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs). These officers will offer technical support to civil servants using the app.
The Pay Plateau App provides civil servants with easy access to their salary information and related financial documents through a streamlined digital process.
Users will need their unique Civil Service Verification Number and other personal details to access the app, marking a significant step in Plateau State’s digital transformation journey.
